During ABC’s “Secret Life of Diddy — A Special Edition of 20/20” that aired on Wednesday, Red, 37, weighed in on the troubled relationship between Ventura, 38, and Combs, 54, who dated from 2007 to 2018.
Red recalled a night in 2015 when she overheard a phone call where Combs — who was arrested last month on sex trafficking and racketeering charges — verbally berated Ventura.
“I remember her being like, ‘You wanna see something crazy?’ And I was like, ‘What?’ And she answered the phone,” Red remembered.
“That was my first time being, like, ‘Something is wrong,’” Red added.
The Grammy Award winner also claimed she saw Combs scream at his then-girlfriend at Ventura’s 29th birthday party in August 2015.
“I walk out the room and right behind the door, there’s his security around him, they have her in the corner, and he’s in her face and he’s cussing her out,” Red alleged.
“He was really mad, he was really close to her face and she just had her head down. When I was standing over to the side, she just was kind of looking up at me,” she claimed.
Red further claimed about Combs, “My sense was that everybody around him was afraid of him.”
When asked why, she called the “Coming Home” rapper “explosive,” and noted how powerful he was at that time.
“What you gonna do? He’s got the keys to the cities. He’s friends with the politicians. He’s friends with this person,” she said. “Who’s gonna challenge that? And when? And be believed? Yeah right.”
Red also accused Combs of using music “to control” Ventura by promising he was going to release her album, which he never did.
“From what it seems like, it was never gonna come out. It was never supposed to come,” Red said, adding, “She told me the only time he was willing to talk about her music was during the Freak-Offs.”
Red revealed that during her first-ever interaction with Combs, he allegedly questioned her about writing songs for Ventura.
“He was like, ‘So she’s talking to you, huh.’ And then he just looked at me, and then he walked away,” Red recalled. “I felt intimidated. It felt like he didn’t want her talking to me.”
The Post has reached out to Diddy’s rep for comment.
Last year, Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs based on several allegations, including rape and physical abuse for over a decade. They settled the lawsuit one day after she filed it.
In May, CNN released a video of Combs abusing Ventura in a hotel in 2016. Combs could be seen kicking, dragging, stomping and throwing items at the “Me and U” singer in the troubling footage.
Combs later released an apology video for his actions on Instagram, citing his “inexcusable behavior” for beating Ventura and saying, “I was f – – ked up.”
When asked about Combs’ apology during the ABC special, Red said, “I thought it was for him. I think that all of it he was talking about himself and how he felt. It’s all about him, him, him, him.”
Ventura, meanwhile, released a statement in May after the video leaked and said the abuse she suffered “broke me down to someone I never thought I would become.”
“With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past,” she added.
The 2016 videotape was used as evidence in the case against Combs, who was arrested in New York City last month. Prosecutors alleged in an indictment against Combs that the hip-hop star hosted “freak off” parties where women were lured and coerced into engaging in sexual performances with male sex workers.
Combs is also facing allegations of sexual assault from 120 accusers over the past 30 years.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges as he remains behind bars in Brooklyn.
On Wednesday, Combs’ legal team argued that the Department of Homeland Security leaked the video of him beating Ventura to hurt his chances of winning the case.
His lawyers called on the court to potentially suppress evidence, including the 2016 tape, or even dismiss the case, according to the legal briefing.
On Thursday, the rapper is due in front of Manhattan Federal Judge Arun Subramanian at 2 p.m. to discuss a potential trial date and set a timeline for when the feds will turn over “voluminous” reams of evidence to his attorneys.
