It seems Henry Cavill isn’t done with the MCU quite yet! The actor is reportedly in talks with Marvel for a new role following his cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Perhaps the most surprising cameo that Marvel was able to keep hidden in Deadpool and Wolverine was the appearance of Henry Cavill as The Cavillrine. This sparked calls from across the internet for the former Superman actor to take on the role of Wolverine in the MCU. Calls that were quickly silenced as a rumor began to mount that Hugh Jackman may continue playing the iconic role for the foreseeable future.
However, even if Henry Cavill won’t be continuing his role from Deadpool and Wolverine, that doesn’t mean he won’t appear in the MCU. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Marvel is currently in talks with the actor to play a role in a future film following his well received cameo. While the rumor doesn’t state what hero he could be playing, that hasn’t stopped the internet from speculating that the Cavillrine might ride again!
What Role Will Henry Cavill Play In The MCU?
Even though Henry Cavill might not be the main Wolverine in the MCU, that doesn’t mean his cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine can’t live on. It’s possible that Marvel wants Cavill back as the Cavillrine for a small role in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. Given how massive of a crossover those two projects will be, it would make sense for multiple multiversal variants to make an appearance in the film.
When it comes to a new role Henry Cavill might take on in the MCU, quite a few Marvel characters come to mind. Even if he doesn’t continue his cameo as the Cavillrine from Deadpool and Wolverine, many have called for Cavill to take on the role of Wolverine’s teammate Cyclops. Others believe he would be a perfect fit for Captain Britain, allowing him to continue on in the role of a “Superman” even in spite of losing his role in the DC Universe.
