A ‘heartbreaking’ and emotional song said to be Liam Payne has been released in the wake of his sudden death.
The former One Direction star died yesterday at around 5pm (ART) after plummeting 45ft from a third-floor balcony of his suite in the Casa Sur Palmero Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Distraught fans flocked to the scene to hold a vigil whilst singing a heart-wrenching rendition of the One Direction song Infinity outside the hotel.
Tributes have flooded in from far across the globe, with One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles releasing a joint statement, saying they were ‘completely devastated’.
Now a tear-jerking song from an unconfirmed source has emerged on social media claiming to be a 2019 unreleased tune from the late Liam Payne.
A singer – rumoured to be Liam Payne – eerily croons the tragic lyrics: ‘I am a little less high than I used to be.
‘Still a little uncertain of everything. I keep hearing I am right where I am supposed to be, so trying to find out what that’s supposed to mean.
‘And I’m all in my head now, every night when I lay down does it ever get easier,’ the voice can be heard blasting during the one minute and 15 second long clip.
‘If I’m lost in the dark now will you hear when I call out? Does it ever get easier?’
The snippet continues: ‘Look what you’ve done? What have you done? Telling myself Look what you have done was it ever enough.’
Social media users left their condolences in the comment section, with one user writing: ‘Beautiful song. Rip Liam.’
It has not been confirmed it the singer in the clip is Liam Payne.
Liam Payne’s One Direction bandmates have broken their silence following Liam Payne’s tragic death.
In a joint statement released tonight, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles said they were ‘completely devastated.’
‘In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say,’ they said.
‘But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.
‘The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us.
‘We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam – Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry.’
Argentina’s prosecutor’s office revealed earlier today that Payne may have been ‘semi-conscious or completely unconscious’ when he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The star plunged 45ft from the third floor into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina’s capital yesterday, before medics confirmed his death.
Prior to Payne’s death, hotel staff franticly called 911 regarding ‘an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol’ who was ‘smashing up his room’.
Louis Tomlinson posted a separate tribute on his Instagram page in which he said he was ‘really struggling with the idea of saying goodbye’.
He posted a picture of the two of them on stage with Payne lovingly putting his arm over Louis’ shoulder.
Tomlinson said he would be an uncle to Payne’s son Bear if he ‘ever needs me’ and and ‘tell him stories of how amazing his dad was’.
‘I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band, speaking on the phone for hours, reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life,’ he wrote.
‘I would have loved to share the stage with you again but it wasn’t to be.
‘I wish I got chance to say goodbye and tell you one more time how much I loved you.
‘Payno, my boy, one of my best friends, my brother, I love you mate. Sleep well X.’
Former One Direction star Zayn Malik also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message to Payne on Instagram, shortly after Louis Tomlinson.
His heartfelt tribute was coupled with an image of himself and Payne hugging as teenagers.
‘Liam, I have found myself talking out loud to you, hoping you can hear me I can’t help but think selfishly that there was so many more conversations for us to have in our lives,’ he penned.
‘I never got to thank you for supporting me through some of the most difficult times in my live.
‘When I was missing home as a 17 year old kid you would always be there with a positive outlook and reassuring smile and let me know you were my friend and that I was loved.
