The $30,000 Rolex Liam Payne was wearing hours before he fell to his death last month is reportedly still missing and may have been stolen.
According to the Argentinian newspaper La Nación, local police are trying to locate the valuable watch that the former One Direction singer was wearing on the same day he fell from his third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
“We know, from images that were analyzed, that Payne was wearing a Rolex on the day of his death,” detectives said, per the outlet.
“He was wearing it in one of his hands and he had it for at least two to three hours before he jumped into the void. We looked for him in the room at the CasaSur hotel where he was staying and we couldn’t find him.”
Argentinian police have not yet found the Rolex and it did not come up during the nine raids they conducted last week.
“The watch was searched for at the homes of the people accused of the crimes of abandonment of a person and supply and facilitation of narcotics and at the homes of the two prostitutes who were with Payne in the room the afternoon of his death,” a judicial source told La Nación.
The watch will be searched for in Payne’s hotel room, which was closed due to a court order.
The “X Factor” alum died on Oct. 16 when he fainted and fell from his third-floor hotel room balcony at the Casa Sur Palermo. He was 31.
A toxicology report revealed that Payne — whose death is not being ruled a suicide — had multiple drugs in his system, including crack, cocaine and “pink cocaine,” a recreational drug that typically mixes methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others.
Last week, the “Night Changes” singer’s friend, along with a hotel employee and an alleged drug dealer, were charged in connection to Payne’s death.
Braian Nahuel Paiz, an Argentinian waiter accused of supplying drugs to the crooner, spoke out, admitting that he took drugs with Payne but never supplied him with narcotics nor received any money from him.
