Finding strength: Emma Watson discusses her unique take on ‘self-partnering

Emma Watson expressed her happiness about the positive impact of her recent comments on being ‘self-partnered’. The 29-year-old actress introduced the term during an interview with British Vogue, and was surprised by the overwhelming response to what she considered a casual remark. In a conversation with E!’s The Rundown on Snapchat, the Little Women actress shared her delight in seeing people feeling empowered by her words.

'Throwaway comment': The bag reveal comes after the star admitted that she was glad she 'empowered' people with her controversial remarks about being 'self-partnered' (pictured this month)

Emma Watson expressed her surprise at the response to her comments about being ‘self-partnered’, stating that she initially made the remark as a casual comment. The actress explained that she woke up to her phone buzzing with messages from friends, causing the term to go viral. She clarified that being ‘self-partnered’ is more about having a positive relationship with oneself rather than just being single, emphasizing the importance of not feeling inadequate for not being in a relationship.

'Finally happy': The actress, 29, coined the term in an interview with British Vogue last month, and has since admitted she was taken aback by the 'crazy' reaction to the phrase

“Feeling content at last”: The 29-year-old actress came up with this phrase during a recent chat with British Vogue. She was surprised by the overwhelming response to her words.

Emma’s friend and fellow Harry Potter actor, Tom Felton, shared his support for her recent revelation. He expressed his approval of the concept of being self-partnered, stating that he is quite content with this mindset as well. Tom emphasized the importance of loving oneself before being able to love others, which he sees as a positive step.

In a recent interview with Vogue, Emma opened up about her journey to embracing her single status, using the term “self-partnered.” She admitted that it took her a while to feel comfortable with being on her own, as she initially doubted the idea of being happy without a romantic partner.

'I'm in the same category': Emma's Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton, 32, was just one of her celebrity friends to back her corner (pictured together this summer)

‘I’m in the same boat’: Emma’s Harry Potter colleague Tom Felton, 32, was among her famous friends supporting her (seen together in a photo from this summer).

“It took me a while, but I’m content with being single. I prefer to call it self-partnered.” Emma’s fresh phrase appeared to be inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s popular term ‘conscious uncoupling’ when they separated in 2014.

The actress from Beauty and The Beast was recently linked romantically to Dominic Piazza, as they were seen together on various occasions in August. She also had a short relationship with former Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe, aged 40. Emma had dated Glee star Chord Overstreet last year, but the relationship ended after half a year.

In the past, she mentioned that she doesn’t like to date famous people. In an interview with Elle Australia, she stated, “I prefer not to be in a relationship with celebrities. It doesn’t seem right to me that their private lives become public simply because of me. I wish I could shield them from that.”
Emma’s next project is her leading role as Meg in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic book Little Women. In the movie, she portrays the oldest March sister, who navigates financial struggles, societal expectations, and romantic entanglements amid the backdrop of the Civil War in America.
