Since Corrine from The Bachelor made headlines for admitting she still had a nanny, it has become a popular topic to joke about adults having nannies. Emma Watson even got in on the fun during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The 26-year-old pretended to interview a nanny as part of a prank orchestrated by DeGeneres, who fed Watson lines through a hidden earpiece. Check out the video below to see the hilarious moment unfold.
Taking a cue from Corrine, Emma Watson recently conducted a nanny interview as a prank on Ellen’s show. In a playful manner, Emma revealed to the unsuspecting nanny candidate that she would actually be her nanny. She jokingly mentioned getting the idea from watching The Bachelor and playfully admitted to picking up the phrase “vagine.” The nanny nervously chuckled along, unaware that the whole thing was just an elaborate prank. Emma went on to humorously list her unique preferences, such as a dislike for sandwich crusts and milk but a liking for Red Bull, all while trying to keep a straight face.
Ellen was whispering in the girl’s ear, guiding the 26-year-old through questioning the unsuspecting girl without her knowledge.
Concealed camera caught the moment when the Harry Potter actress revealed to an unsuspecting victim that she was actually looking for a nanny for herself. “I prefer to use the bathroom by myself… I don’t need any assistance,” she made it clear.
Following Ellen’s cue, Emma was prompted to share a personal secret with the nanny, resulting in an uncomfortable silence between them. Subsequently, Emma teared up as instructed by Ellen, complaining about a hurt finger and asking for it to be comforted by the startled caregiver.
“I was watching the Bachelor when inspiration struck,” she explained. “I found myself repeatedly saying ‘vagine’ just like they did on the show.”
Unaware: The anxious babysitter chuckled and nodded along, not realizing she was actually being interviewed by the host from a distance. “That was just a test, and you did great,” Emma said, taking the opportunity back. The actress from Beauty and the Beast then remembered it was snack time, grabbing a huge lollipop from the cupboard before throwing her phone in frustration. “Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the best little girl of all? You are, Emma… you are,” she whispered to herself, trying to stifle her laughter.
Casual: After a brief pause, Ellen turned to Emma and said, “Hey, can I share something with you? I’ve never told anyone else about this before, but I trust you with my secrets.” This unexpected confession left them in a slightly uncomfortable silence for a while.
Looking for a snack, the Beauty And The Beast actress grabbed a big lollipop from the cabinet before throwing her phone in a fit of frustration. Earlier, on the show, Ellen made fun of the outfit Emma wore to her first Harry Potter premiere in 2001. Emma recalled how much effort went into planning the “sack-esque” ensemble with her mom. Despite the criticism, she confidently declared, “I thought I looked amazing, bless me.” The conversation also touched on Emma’s excitement about being cast as Belle in the upcoming Disney live-action remake.
Getting out of character, she playfully asked the mirror, “Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the top dog in this house? You are, Emma… you are!” It was tough to contain her laughter as she tried to stay in character.
Oh, thank goodness! She finally shared the secret with the ‘nanny’.
Thinking back to when she was just five years old, watching Beauty and the Beast on repeat, she couldn’t believe she’d one day play Belle. “I would’ve thought you were crazy if you told me then,” she admitted. “I would’ve totally freaked out!”
She confessed to watching the movie so many times that her parents went crazy. “Like, seriously, so many times!”
When it came to portraying the heroine, she stressed the importance of Belle being active and in control of her own fate. “I wanted her to be powerful… not that she wasn’t already,” she added with a grin.
Sack-like: In a previous episode, Ellen playfully teased Emma about the outfit she wore to her first-ever movie premiere for Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone back in 2001.
Beauty and the Beast: The star also shared her excitement about landing the role of Belle in the new live-action remake by Disney.
