Liam Payne gave away £10,000 in one night shortly before his death in heartwarming move
The world has been left in shock after singer Liam Payne passed away on Wednesday (16 October).
The 31-year-old was found lying in a courtyard after falling from a third-floor balcony of Buenos Aires’ Casa Sur Hotel.
A statement has since been released by Alberto Crescenti, the head of the state emergency medical system, revealing that a fall of around 40 metres caused Payne to suffer ‘severe injuries which were incompatible with life.’
“The alarm was raised at 5.04pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur,” he said.
“At 5.11pm, an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead.
“Afterwards we found out he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately, the injuries he had suffered as a result of the fall proved to be fatal. There was no possibility of resuscitating him.”
It has since been reported that the One Direction star had donated £10,000 to people in need just weeks before his tragic death.
On 30 September, Payne dipped into his estimated £46 million fortune to donate to various GoFundMe campaigns.
He gave £2,300 to Jack, a 28-year-old in the US who is battling cancer.
The singer then donated £3,833 to help Macy Shepard, 4, who has a rare tumour on her kidney.
He also contributed £770 towards the medical bills of a young girl who’d been injured in a school shooting in the US, and a further £2,223 to stroke victim Kailyn, who is just four years old.

At the time, he told The Sun that he couldn’t help but think about his son Bear, 7, who he shared with ex-partner Cheryl, when he read their heartbreaking stories.
“As a father, it hits me differently. I have been spending the last few nights trying to finish off the donations so they can get the operations they need – they would be free in my country,” he explained, referring to the lack of free healthcare in the US.
“I can’t look at a sick child and not see Bear. I’m not asking for people to say well done or I’m amazing.”
During his life, Liam used his platform to help a number of charitable causes.
He took part in Soccer Aid twice, raising money for global children’s charity Unicef, and also worked with anti-poverty charity Trussell in his hometown of Wolverhampton.
