Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes remains neutral when it comes to politics. Back in 2020, Mahomes joined Lakers star LeBron James’ “More Than a Vote” campaign, which was formed to help boost Black voter turn out, but chose not endorse a candidate. After being named by Time magazine as one of the World’s Most Influential People in April, Mahomes was asked if he planned to endorse a political candidate for the 2024 election. “I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain President,” he said. “I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research.”
While Mahomes keeps his vote close to the chest, his wife, Brittany Mahomes, appears to be fan of Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump. She liked a post on Trump’s Instagram page, which lined out his platform for his 2024 campaign.
The post Brittany liked was initially posted by Trump on August 13. Following the viral reaction, she’s since rescinded her like. On August 23, the 28-year-old posted a scathing message to haters on her Instagram Stories, which some people assumed was in reaction to the backlash she received over liking Trump’s post. “I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to hear from childhood,” she wrote. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to
While Brittany has not officially endorsed a presidential candidate, due to her close friendship with Taylor Swift, who’s dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, many of the singer’s fans were disappointed to see the KC Current co-owner liking Trump’s posts. Swift made her opinion on Trump extremely clear. She posted on X ahead of the 2020 election, “After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November, @realdonaldtrump.”
