Attorneys for Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs have again requested bail as he awaits federal trial on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.
The 55-year-old rapper was arrested in New York in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has vehemently denied all allegations against him and pleaded not guilty in court.
Diddy has previously been denied bail, but in a new motion filed on Friday his attorneys cited similar cases in which defendants had been released. They have also suggested strict bail conditions for the Bad Boy Records founder to follow.

In the new filing, which was obtained by the Associated Press, Combs’ attorneys described the new proposal as a “far more robust” bail package. It would subject their client to around-the-clock security monitoring and restrictions on his ability to contact anyone but his lawyers.
The proposed bail package would include a $50 million bond. As part of it, the I’ll Be Missing You hitmaker would have no access to the internet or phone and would have to have a pre-approved visitor list of select family members.
Diddy’s attorneys also pointed to new evidence they claim “makes clear that the government’s case is thin.” The alleged new evidence refutes the governments claim that a March 2016 video showing Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend occurred during a coerced “freak off,” according to the rapper’s attorneys. Instead, they have claimed the encounter was “a minutes-long glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship.”
The lawyers further argued that the conditions inside the MDC violate Combs’ rights to participate in his defense. The Mirror US has approached Diddy’s attorneys for comment.
Combs’ trial is set to start on May 5, 2025. As he remains detained in the MDC, Diddy has also been hit with several lawsuits filed by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee.
The lawsuits include allegations of rape, sexual abuse and sexual assault. Diddy has strongly denied all of the allegations against him. Combs’ attorney Erica Wolff responded to the lawsuits and said: “We cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.”
She concluded: “He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
In a second statement about the lawsuits, Diddy’s attorneys told The Mirror US: “The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded todays barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity. Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone adult or minor, man or woman.”
