Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs is staying in the 4 North unit of Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where inmates are said to have access to a ping-pong table and video games.
The 55-year-old rapper is being held at the MDC as he awaits federal trial. He was arrested in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs has vehemently denied all allegations against him and pleaded not guilty in court. The Last Night hitmaker’s dorm facility houses around 20 inmates and previously held R Kelly before he was convicted on sexual abuse charges.

Podcaster Jeff Nadu, who has interviewed people who spent time at the MDC, suggested the 4 North unit “can be super boring.” However, other reports suggest there are plenty of activities to keep inmates busy.
Journalist Tiffany Fong told The New York Post that instead of having cells, the unit is “set up like a dorm.” Inmates being held in the unit wake up at around 6am each day and are subjected to head counts during the day, according to Fong. She said they can spend their time at the gym or playing board games and card games.
There’s also a ping-pong table in the unit. “Inmates have access to tablets that are not connected to the internet. They can watch movies and play video games and listen to music. Apparently, there are books, but those are limited,” she continued.
However, the 4 North unit does still have some strict rules. The beds are said to be “very small,” with Fong suggesting they are placed “no more than a foot apart from one another.”
She also suggested there was a lack of privacy, explaining: “The showers and bathrooms only have a thin curtain for privacy. A lot can be heard by the other inmates.” The Mirror US has approached the Metropolitan Detention Center and Diddy’s attorneys for comment.
P Diddy has been denied bail as he awaits his federal trial, which is due to begin on May 5, 2025. Prosecutors predict that his trial could last approximately three weeks.
