Andrew Cross – YouTube star, famous explorer with the stage name ‘Desert Drifter’ – died on March 4, more than a month after suffering a serious brain injury from a traffic accident.
Andrew Cross’s sister confirmed the sad news on March 5. “Andrew’s spirit is free, surrounded by light and love. He went home to be with God today,” his sister Jenna wrote.

The 36-year-old social media star was placed on life support after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car accident on January 31. His family had to make the difficult decision this week after “praying, gathering information and discussing.” Jenna previously explained that they would need to make the decision because he was nearing the end of his maximum allowed time in intensive care.
Andrew Cross was involved in a traffic accident on January 31 when he was hit from behind at high speed while waiting at a red light. He was rushed to hospital and immediately underwent brain surgery to control bleeding on the brain, and has been in intensive care ever since.

According to Us Weekly , after Andrew’s accident, his wife, Evelyn, took over his YouTube page. The family also created a GoFundMe page to raise money to help with Andrew’s medical expenses. At the time of his death, fans had donated $479,491 to Andrew’s family.
