The decision of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ bail request will be determined next week after a Friday hearing.
The disgraced rapper had a hearing in Manhattan federal court on November 22 about his request to be released on bail. U.S. District Judge Aran Subramanian told the federal prosecutors and the defense team to offer more of an explanation on how Diddy has been communicating while being detained for the past two months since he was arrested, according to PEOPLE.
The judge additionally asked both sides for information on the what kind of communication Diddy is allowed to utilize by the Bureau of Prisons. The prosecution and the defense have until 12 p.m. ET on November 25 to hand in the requested information. The 55-year-old is currently detained in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center as he awaits trial in May 2025 for charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pled not guilty to the charges and has denied the allegations.

Diddy’s lawyers in the latest bail request, after being denied a few times, asserted that he should be released on bail and instead put on home confinement in a three-bedroom apartment on the Upper East Side where he would be monitored 24/7 by three full-time security personnel.
They also said that their proposed conditions for his arrest were “far more restrictive” than the jail including limiting phone calls to lawyers, restricting visitors to only his lawyers and specific family members, maintaining a visitor log and avoiding contact with witnesses or potential witnesses. Diddy’s defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo said “there’s just zero chance” of the music mogul being violent towards someone if that’s what the government is “afraid of.”
Prosecutors argued that Diddy “cannot be trusted” to abide by the rules of a pretrial bail release. They made a note to the judge that “this is a case about violence” and that the conditions the Diddy’s legal team proposed in the bail package are inadequate. Prosecutor Christy Slavik said that in order for the “conditions to be sufficient,” there has to be a degree of trust that the defendant will adhere to them but she believes “the defendant cannot be trusted.” She also brought up the question of the effectiveness of Diddy being monitored by a team of private security guards that he paid for.
During the hearing, Diddy was present and he waved as well as blew kisses to his mother Janice Combs and his six children that were all in attendance. Quincy, Justin, Christian “King,” Chance, twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs came to support their father at his hearing as they sat with their grandmother in the second row of the gallery.
