During Monday’s episode titled “Valley of the Dolls,” eagle-eyed viewers caught a quick reference to Swift, 34, and boyfriend Travis Kelce.
After Mabel (Selena), Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short) leave New York City to hide out at Charles’ younger sister Doreen’s (Melissa McCarthy) home in Long Island, they walk into her impressive life-size doll collection.
A sweet nod to the Grammy winner and Kelce, 35, who wears No. 87 as a Kansas City Chiefs player.
One user shared the clip on X, writing, “wait guys taylor cameo in the new ep of only murders in the building??? and she’s wearing an 87 shirt omg help.”
Another fan said, “Selena Gomez (Mabel) is sitting next to a Taylor Swift doll in the latest Only Murders in the Building episode.”
Although the trio has yet to confirm the easter egg, the possibility of bringing Swift on in a more evident way may not be in the cards anytime soon.
“She’s a little busy, you guys,” Gomez told E! News in an August interview.
Martin, 79, also took a moment to gush over the actress and singer.
“Here’s how I unite Taylor Swift and Selena,” the “Father of the Bride” star said. “Taylor Swift handles everything perfectly and so does Selena. In the situations I’ve seen — politically, trolls, everything — she just seems to have a wisdom about how to do something quietly, effortlessly. And I know that you have to think about these things.”
Gomez and Swift’s friendship has been in style since 2008, with the two becoming especially close after Swift dated Joe Jonas while Gomez was with his younger brother, Nick Jonas.
“We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together, it was hysterical,” Gomez said in a 2017 interview with KISS FM UK. “We just clicked … It was the best thing we got out of those relationships.”
Meanwhile, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum recently revealed to Vanity Fair one way she and Swift, who she said is “really like a big sister to me,” bond in their free time.
